Halloween Fun

It has been a busy, fun weekend.

Air Show

Airplanes are a big deal around here these days.  L. just loves everything about

planes, shuttles, helicopters.  For his birthday, we gave him a "certificate" 

to go to the air show this summer,  because the Blue Angels were coming.  

It was so fun!

 This is as close as we could get, and L. just had a ball waving to all the planes as they taxied in and out.

 It was extremely hot, so we spent lots of time under the umbrella and drinking frozen gatorades!

 Probably wasn't supposed to be hanging on the planes...that's L. for you!

 

 To complete the birthday present, we got him this plane and he flew it all over the rest of the day.

 The show was fun, but the Blue Angels definitely made it amazing!  It is incredible what they do.

What a great day!

Summer Show

The girls had a great time performing in a show choir last week.  They've been rehearsing since May, and have absolutely loved being a part of this group!  This was their first time performing on stage, and they were a little nervous, but had a great time.

 Thanks to Grandma for making these great costumes for the opening number!  

They are Tinkerbell and Thumper (from Bambi).

Song #6 was "The Bare Necessities" and S. is the parrot (blue and pink feathers) and D. is a lizard, right next to the parrot :).

The final number was "Circle of Life."  S. is on the floor, immediate left of the left microphone.  D. is standing immediate right of the left microphone.

What a great introduction to show biz and performing.  They loved it, and can't wait to participate again next summer!

Great job girls!!!  We love you.

Happenings

 We love airplanes around here!  Above is the cardboard model the kids decorated.  They played in it for many days before that activity got old.

 

L. would watch youtube videos of airplanes all day if I would let him.  Above he is sporting his "wings" he got from a pilot friend.  He was so proud to have met a pilot!  He can't wait to go flying with his Uncle J. and asks me everyday when it is his turn to go for an airplane ride with him.

 

C. is so happy!

The blizzard in February brought lots of snow!  School was cancelled, and the kids had a good time outside catching snowflakes , playing in the huge piles, and making snow angels.  It was nice to see it all white.  Unfortunately, even though we have 12 inches of snow, none of it was good snowman snow, so we still have yet to make a snowman this year!
